Very soon I will turn 63. Next Monday I start as an Adjunct Astronomy instructor at Waubonsee Community College. I lost a very good friend, I lost my father, I lost my mother, and I lost my country.
This sounds radical. That is not my intention, I just want to understand this moment in my life.
This is a new stage.
That´s right cousin, I understand you very well. I´ll be 60 next november, and about a month ago, we received the bad news that may father (will be 85 next september) has esophagus cancer, having a lot of trouble when trying to eat. He´s going to have 28 radiation sessions, beginning next month. I also lost a good friend two weeks ago in Mexicali because of a brain stroke, and in a sense, due to the last presidential election results I also feel like loosing my cowntry. Thank god that I have a great friend that really supports me, her name is Karina, and she is a very bright poet and writer as well as a teacher. Dear cousin lets remember that always is a bright light at the end of the tunel. I wish you the best. Regards.
ReplyDeleteMy mother got cancer. Because of diabetes, she had to inject insulin for thirty years. The tissue near her stomach, she could not take all those injections, and cancer developed in that tissue. We only found out when it was too late. She died in the hospital.
ReplyDeleteEven if Enrique Pena Nieto "won" in Mexico, and Mitt Romney may "win" in the US, my candidates Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, and Barack Obama, represent what I believe in, and we are more, we just have to get organized.
