Why Nations Fail?
In their new book linked above; Acemoglu and Robinson claim it is politics that makes countries fail.
After living all my life in an almost failed state, Mexico, I vow to that.
The level of corruption makes my country practically a dictatorship. Gangs of kids in Tamaulipas State, just across the border from Texas, terrorize law abiding citizens. This is the "Lord of the Flies" writ large, very large, as you can read in the NYT, [link].
I feel well; I brought my immediate family out of harm's way. We are all in the US.
